| Customer Reviews: Good, but not the best September 3, 2003 Callum (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this is the first dvd release 4 the 6th series. Already, this series is lacking the x factor of series 2 and 5, but is a solid start to a new series. The best stories here are THE FOGMAN and GORDEN TAKES A TUMBLE. Not sure about the new characters, id prefer to c more of classic engines.
Eight excellent stories November 6, 2002 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is very popular with my 3 year old. Eight stories which I was pleased to find are all new model animations and good little tales - The Fogman, No sleep for Cranky, Salty's Secret, Harvey to the Rescue, A Bad Day for Harold the helicopter, Elizabeth the Vintage Lorry, Twin Trouble, Gordon takes a Tumble - and a song Winter Wonderland featuring the engines in the snow. The select a story menu is on two pages and has pictures to make it easy to choose. Or you can play the whole sequence through if you need to leave the room. The eight stories are numbered - good practice for my son Though for some reason on the second menu you have to use the arrow keys on the key pad rather than numbers 5 to 8 to select the story. But it doesn't matter. Extras are a quiz (we haven't tried yet, but sounds fun) and character profiles - wordy descriptions for older children. What is especially good about the DVD (this is our first though we also have Thomas stories on video) is that you can choose the story and find it easily. The picture quality is excellent too. Highly recommended.
The New Series Has Finally Come! November 3, 2002 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Thomas is back in the latest series which has hit the video stores. The stories are more original than ever and even more enjoyable than the last series. I recomend you buy this video because the kids will love it, especialy with 3 new charecters Salty, Harvey and Elizabeth!
