Fast paced, excellent Kenndy thriller January 8, 2010 MrsMac (Manchester, UK) This Douglas Kennedy book features Ben Bradford, a quite ordinary Wall Street Lawyer who seems to have the perfect life, big home, two kids, beautiful wife, However, he hates his job, he always wanted to be a professional photographer so indulges his passion with the best camera equipment available, his marriage isn't as perfect as it looks and he is stressed and frustrated with his `perfect' life.
His life then takes a dramatic turn when he finds out his wife is cheating on him with a neighbour. The story then explodes into a roller-coaster of action and you will not be able to put the book down as you follow Ben through his drama as he rationalises his criminal behaviour.
I loved this book, a good solid thriller which is what I have come to expect from Kennedy. Superb!
Unputdownable! April 23, 2009 Pammie Brooklyn (Bedfordshire, UK) If you haven't discovered Douglas Kennedy yet, you are missing out. The Big Picture was the first book of his I read. I loaned it to someone, and never got it back. Since reading all his others, I've now bought it from Amazon to read it again. Yes, he's that good!
Kept my attention ... November 16, 2008 A. B. Taylor (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the last Kennedy book I've read so am now waiting for 'Leaving the world' to come out!
Enjoyed the saga of Ben Bradford however coincidental & unlikely some of it seemed (ie: getting away with murder once and beginning a new identity twice!)
Not Kennedy's best as I think his later work better, but I was enthralled enough to read it quickly to see how Ben managed to work things out to his advantage.
Worth reading & good entertainment.
A Different Picture October 12, 2008 Mr. John Frank Herbert (Greenwich, London) Ben Bradford hates his job, despite the large income, and hates his life, despite a wife and two lovely kids.
But when his wife cheats on him everything goes really pear-shaped, and off we go on an interesting journey, following Ben Bradford's incredible life.
Slightly slow to start, eventually bounding along, dragging you much quicker through the pages, this book surprised me - a memorable little experience.
A great compulsive read June 5, 2008 French reader (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved this book. The story is original, surprising, I was so into the book that I missed my stop on the tube on several occasions. I made everybody around me read it and they all loved it.
