Perfect for sleep-overs, camping, or encouraging reluctant sleepers that bed is a good place, the Thomas & Friends Ready Bed is a great way to make night times more fun.
Consisting of a blow-up air bed fitted snugly into a fleecy sleeping bag, the bed features a colourful picture of Thomas. The Ready Bed can be pumped up quickly--an adult could have the bed up and ready within 10 minutes using the small foot pump included, or using an electric pump it takes just a couple of minutes.
The whole bed can be just as quickly deflated and folds down into a matching cylindrical nylon zip-up bag, also included. It is light and portable and will easily fit into a larger suitcase or kit bag. Although this isn't the strongest of bags, it is adequate for keeping the bed packed and for travelling.
The bed zips up along one side, and measures roughly L=155, W=67 & H=20cm, perfect for accommodating young children. It stores away using the minimum of space and as the sleeping bag and blow-up bed are detachable, the fleece bag is washable at 30 degrees. This is a great present and a useful all-round standby for unexpected sleep-overs or unannounced guests. --Lucie Hyde

Great product but not what we thought we were buying August 17, 2010

Difficult to rate this as a toy when it's clearly not but hey... we really like this ready bed as does our son aged 2. He had his nap in it the day it arrived, the week before the holiday it was bought for, and had no trouble sleeping in it. He loves the trains on the headboard and sitting up in bed looking at books. With an extra blanket on top it was fine in colder weather, although warmer weather is trickier as the cover is attached down one side and can't be thrown off (which I guess is the general idea anyway).
My one complaint is that we thought from the amazon site we were buying a bed for age 3+ and we got one for 2+. The product details and measurements stated on the site were for that age and the colours were different from the "My First.." product. Our son is tall for 2 and completely fills the bed so there's no growing room. We probably wouldn't have bought this if we'd known we would get the age 2 version with a very short use life, or we had it would have been bought on the high street with no postage cost. Once our son had seen it there was no way we could send it back though. Great product but not what we wanted.

Don't go by the measurements of the bed, as the "headboard" part is huge. My three year old is 40 inches tall and there are maybe two or three inches left at his feet when in it, so he will grow out of it soon.
He was very excited by it, but fell out of it right away as the sides dont have much support.
Having said all that I think it will be a favourite and a great success once he gets used to it.

This bed is brilliant for any Thomas fan. Great quality. I did have a problem with a slow puncture and the company (Worlds Apart) sent me a new inflatable part without question. Great Buy.

My kids love these! My 4 year old got the Thomas the tank engine one and my 2 year old got the in the night garden one for going to visit relatives etc. The normally stressful task of getting them to go to bed has suddenly become a breeze. They can't wait to get in them and lie there chuckling away till they fall asleep. Brilliant!
